The Toyota immobiliser systems were introduced in 1995. There are two different types of immobiliser systems in the Toyota range.
Separate immobiliser ECU
Immobiliser system built into the Engine ECU
As soon as you insert your key into the ignition the Toyota immobiliser system will read the key if the transponder data doesn't match the stored data in the ECU the car will not start. Lost/Stolen Key

The dealer's solution to a lost/stolen key is to change the ECU and provide you with a key which can cost £900. Also you will need to take the car to them. Spare Key
If you are forward thinking you will always have a spare car key. This will save you money in the future if you lose your car key. We can cut and program a spare key for you. In some cases we don't even need the car, just the key. Give us a call for this service.
